2. Sole Proprietor / Partnerships

2.1. Application of a New Business Name
This allows you to apply and reserve a name for registration of a business (sole-proprietorship or general
partnership).


Information you need:
1. Proposed name of the business
2. Business activities
3. Business address
4. Details of the owner (refer to Important Notes below)


How long will it take to file this transaction?
1. This e-Service will take about 15 minutes to complete.
2. This application will be approved immediately if the name is available. However, it may take between 14 days to 60 days if the application needs to be referred to another agency for approval or review.

Important Notes:
1. FIN holders are
1. advised to seek consent from the relevant pass issuing authority (e.g. MOM/ICA) before registering or taking on an appointment (e.g. director, secretary) in an entity.
2. Name application fees are non-refundable if the name application is subsequently rejected.
3. Please note down the transaction number. You will require this transaction number if you decide to reserve the name first and register the business later.

2.2. Application to Register Person(s) and Business Name
- You will need to register a business once the business name application is successful.
- Name application and business registration can be a one step (direct proceed to registration) or a two step process.
- In the one step process, you can proceed to register the business immediately after the name application is approved.
- In the two step process, the name application may be submitted for name appeal or be referred to a referral authority for approval. Only after the name application has been approved can the lodger register the business.
- Upon successful registration, a free system-generated Unique Entity Number (UEN) will be issued to the business entity. This UEN is the business entity's identification number which is required for transacting with government agencies. There is also the option to choose, at a fee, a preferred UEN from a list of reserved UENs. To do so, select the Special UEN (SUN) option available at the payment ("Pay Now") stage.

Information you need:
1. Transaction number of the approved name application
2. Details of proposed owners (refer to Important Notes below) and authorised representatives (if applicable) such as residential/alternate address, identification number, identification type, nationality and contact information
3. Commencement date
4. Registered office address


How long will it take to file/process this transaction?
1. This e-Service will take about 10 to 20 minutes to complete.
2. This application will take 3 working day(s) to process. However, it may take between 14 days to 60 days if the application needs to be referred to another agency for approval or review.

3. Local Company

3.1. Application for New Company Name

 

You can also apply and reserve a new company name.

 

Information you need:

1. Proposed company name

2. Type of company

3. Primary activity

4. Details of proposed director and company officers - include address, ID number, ID type and Nationality (refer to Important Notes below)

5. In-Principle Approval Obtained from Other Authorities (if any).

 

How long will it take to file this transaction?

1. This e-Service will take about 5 to 20 minutes to complete.

2. This application may take 3 working day(s) to process. However, it may take between 14 days to 60 days if the application needs to be referred to another agency for approval or review. The application fee is non-refundable.

 

Important Notes

1. FIN holders are advised to seek consent from the relevant pass issuing authority (e.g. MOM/ICA) before registering or taking on an appointment (e.g. director, secretary) in an entity.

2. Please take down the transaction number which you may require to input during incorporation.

3.2. Incorporation of Local Company

 

You will need to complete the incorporation of your company.

 

Information you need:

1. Transaction number of the approved name application

2. Details of proposed director and company officers - include address, ID number, ID type, Nationality and contact information (refer to Important Notes below)

3. Shares details

4. Registered office address

5. Copy of Constitution (if customised)

 

How long will it take to file this transaction?

1. This e-Service will take about 20 minutes to complete.

2. This application will take 3 working day(s) to process. However, it may take between 14 days to 60 days if the application needs to be referred to another agency for approval or review.

 

Important Notes

1. FIN holders are advised to seek consent from the relevant pass issuing authority (e.g. MOM/ICA) before registering or taking on an appointment (e.g. director, secretary) in an entity.

2. If any director/shareholder appointed is a foreigner, then a CSP must be engaged to incorporate the company.

3. The maximum file size is 5MB and the acceptable file type is PDF, where file submission is required.

4. Upon successful incorporation, a free system-generated Unique Entity Number (UEN) will be issued to the business entity. This UEN is the business entity's identification number which is required for transacting with government agencies. There is also the option to choose, at a fee, a preferred UEN from a list of reserved UENs. To do so, select the Special UEN (SUN) option available at the payment ("Pay Now") stag.
